“SPLENDID RIDGES” TO BE PERFORMED AT THE 2022 MIDWEST CLINIC CONFERENCE
So this is happening 😊
For the first time ever, my music will be featured on a concert at The Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference. The Allen High School Saxophone Ensemble, under the direction of Alex Baczewski, will perform Splendid Ridges, the first piece of The Grand Ledge Triptych, on December 21st in Chicago. The program will also include music by Carol Brittin Chambers, Kevin Day, Viet Cuong, Chen Yi, David Maslanka, Omar Thomas, and Julie Giroux.
I’m so thrilled for this incredible opportunity and cannot thank Alex and his students enough for taking a chance in me and my work for their concert. I’m so thrilled to have my music programmed in the company of so many amazing composers and people. And I can’t thank Tavia Zerman enough for commissioning this piece (and the others in the triptych) a few years ago, as well as to John Szczerowski, Laura Michelle, David Funk, and Tavia for premiering the entire triptych at the Michigan Music Conference back in January of this year.
So this is my official I’ll-be-at-Midwest-this-year announcement! You can find me at the Murphy Music Press booth (where this piece, and the entire triptych, are now available) and the TUX People’s Music booth for most of that week.
If you’re going to Midwest, I hope to see you at this performance of “Splendid Ridges”. It’s going to be amazing!! If you're in the Allen, TX area on December 16th, be sure to attend their send-off concert as well!
