This short, yet lyrical tune is inspired by Emily Dickinson’s poem of the same name. I sought to evoke the imagery present within the poem of a distinctive, yet unique color of light appearing on the horizon when the spring season finally arrives. The melodies and harmonies of this piece create a sense of light so powerful that it resonates with us in a religious or spiritual sense - something that both captivates and inspires all at the same time. In this version of the piece, percussion is used to embellish that sense of captivating wonder as well as build upon the anticipation of arriving towards that moment.
