This book is the continuation of a flexible quartets project Geritt Davenport & I began in the fall of 2023 for his publishing company TUX People’s Music. Inspired by various genres of jazz and pop music, Jazz Up! explores the joy, cheerfulness, and exhilaration of going on vacation, whether alone or with friends and/or family.

As with my previous flexible quartets book, Holiday Delights, this book is designed to be accessible at the educational & professional level for any combination of winds and percussion, or any combination of strings. However, greater cross-compatibility options exist for this book. In the first volume, the auxiliary percussion may be fully combined with any, or all, of the String books. In the second volume, any, or all, of the part books - Winds, Percussion, & Strings - may be fully combined for greater performance opportunities.
