Inspired in part by the historical places I've visited in New England, this hymn is meant to serve as a brief prelude to the festivities of the Halloween season. It is mainly brazen in tone with its stately reverence, but it nonetheless offers a brief lyrical aside while never losing its spooky and sinister edge.
